8 The Lord is pleased when good men pray but hates the sacrifices that wicked men bring him. 9 The Lord hates the ways of evil people but loves those who do what is right. 10 If you do what is wrong, you will be severely punished: you will die if you do not let yourself be corrected. 11 Not even the world of the dead can keep the Lord from knowing what is there: how then can a man hide his thoughts from God?

The book of Proverbs is the go-to when you need to soak in the verses of truth, common sense, good manners, and a compass for life. It is emphasizing that God values sincere hearts over actions.

We hear too often “My way or the highway” and we need to act boldly saying “God’s way is the ONLY way.” When it comes to our accountability to God - there is NO place to hide. We can hide things from people - even from friends and family, but nothings is hidden from God. You can appear righteous in public - but God knows your hearts and openly states he detests the actions of many to give the impression of being good. Attending church, volunteering, involvement in our family, do it all with the passion of the Lord every day. God knows your heart.

Lord, please help us open our hearts to your will and follow your ways in all we do in our daily lives. Amen
