The reading today is from Colossians 4:16:
“And when this letter has been read among you, have it read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and see that you read also the letter from Laodicea.”
Paul wraps up his letter to the Colossians with a string of instructions on what to do, who to talk to and even a 'hi' from a couple other people. It seems to be a highly directed letter to this group of Colossians. And then he says, “Oh yeah, and then I want you to read this to the Laodiceans and you to read what has been written to them.
I think that we get so focused on wanting to hear what God is saying to us that we forget what we are to do with that Good News we hear from God. We are called to go out and proclaim that News to others. We are intended to take what God has given to us and to share it with others so they may also be reached.
So, share the Good News!
Lord Almighty, help us to hear your Word and then move forward to share it amongst all Your people, near and far. Amen
