The scripture reading for today is Psalm 146:2, NIV.
“I will praise the Lord all of my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.”
At first site this seems self-evident. Then we take a closer look. Have I really praised the Lord all of my life or sung his praise as long as I have lived? I would like to think so. The problem is I know that I haven't. There have been times when I have doubted Him and His wisdom concerning me.
I am not proud of this fact. I truly love the Lord. I DO depend on Him and I Do sing His praises. I think that we sometimes forget His love, grace and mercy when in times of stress and go off on our own. Those are times we are making a big mistake. When I DO look back over my 76+ years, God has ALWAYS been there for me and NEVER let me. down.
He is Great and I WILL sing His praises all of the days of my life.
Father, forgive my days of doubt, and help me sing your praises every minute of my life. AMEN
