The reading for today is Habakkuk 2:14
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.
Beautiful, isn’t it? Glory is one of my favorite words in Scripture. Glory is the expression of God. When I am feeling overwhelmed by life or I feel that there just isn’t much good in the world, I am reminded that the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of God.
I am also reminded that one of the ways God is expressed is through me, as His child. When I am tempted to give less of myself because of difficulties I am enduring or when I find myself wanting to type back that defensive response to something thoughtless that was posted online – I remember that God is expressed through me. What I say and do needs to glorify Him and share the knowledge of His glory with others.
Father in Heaven, by the Your Spirit and under the blood of Jesus, My Savior, I ask that You keep me ever mindful of how I express You to others. May we together as the Church, cause others to know You through the expression of Your love in our lives. Amen.
