The reading for today is Luke 18:1, NIV.
“Then Jesus told His Disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and never give up. “
The parable Jesus told the Disciples is about the poor woman who keeps going to the King asking for help. The King keeps turning her down, but finally gives in, not because he feared God but because she was a nuisance to him.
I don't think that God is truly thinking that we are a nuisance, but He does want us to ask for what we need and not stop. He loves us. Those of you who are parents know that we would almost do anything for our children. Sometimes it takes their asking several times, but eventually we give in.
Don't give up if you have a great desire for something. Make sure that it is something Godly. Your desires will NOT be fulfilled if God does not agree with your choice.
Father, Abba, please help us to remember to ask for what we really need and not just because we desire. Help us to ask for the needs of others first. Amen
