The scripture reading for today is Jude 20, NIV.

20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit,

The book of Jude is actually a sermon that was preached to congregations who had been assaulted by false teachers who perverted Gods message.

The message of this verse is simple because it encourages us to build our faith through prayer. The more time we spend talking with God in prayer the more our faith will grow in God’s love. Faith is a challenge to many humans because they cannot see, feel our touch God like they can a neighbor. This inability to see, feel and touch is due to the way we rush around our world looking for quick answers. If we slow down and sit quietly in prayer, we can feel and see God in the peace he sends to us within these moments of prayer. God is the ultimate answer for our existence, and he will keep us safe if we wait on him.

So, to grow in our faith let us try to slow down and smell the roses while we sit in Gods garden here on earth.

Let us pray: Heavenly Father, help us to grow strong in our faith by listening to you in our everyday life. Amen
