The reading is from Psalm 50:15
"Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”
We spend a lot of time worrying. Worrying about the stuff in our lives. Worrying if we are worthy of God's love. Worrying about whether we are doing enough to tell others about God. This psalm spells it out pretty explicitly, "Call on me. Period." When we get over our hemming and hawing and worrying and just turn it over to God, amazing things happen.
God does the work. He is Redeemer and Savior. He is the Forgiver and the Mover of Mountains. God is God. We can do no greater deed then to trust in God and allow Him to do what He does so excellently. Others will see what God is doing in your life and in that He will be glorified and praised. We just need to call on His ever present and abundant aid.
God, Allow us to humble ourselves so that we can call on You in all things. In doing so, we reaffirm You are God and show others Your majesty and power. Amen.
