Today’s reading is Psalm 95: 1-7
“O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.”
Have you ever been hiking and come across a stream that you need to cross? I was in Colorado this summer and while the clear, cold, swift running water was beautiful to look at, I didn’t want any part of getting wet. Not only was it cold, but the current was strong enough I could have been washed away if I lost my footing. What did I do? I looked for the rocks. The ones that were large and solid and well above the surface so they weren’t slippery. Clinging to one, then the next I gradually reached the other side. When the swift, dangerous current of life threatens to pull you under, cling to our Lord Jesus Christ, the Rock of our salvation. His love is solid and unchanging. He will get your through.
Lord Jesus, be my strength and solid rock. Teach me, help me grow stronger in my faith as you guide me along the path that leads to you. Praise be to you now and forever, Amen.
