The reading for today is 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
For which also we pray always concerning you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling and may fulfill in power your every good intention for goodness and your work of faith, So that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 things that stand out to me from this passage:
1. A reminder to pray specifically when I pray for others. I have abandoned the habit of just saying, “Be with” or “I pray for” in favor of asking that people be transformed, blessed, gifted and that they glorify God as they fulfill their ministries.
2. Glory! I love that word. Glory is God expressed through us. I don’t just want to rub elbows with other people as I pass through this life. It’s not enough to me just to avoid offending others or avoid contributing to the chaos. I want to be a peacemaker and I want Him to be glorified to others through me.
Lord, I pray for transformation. I ask that we would give ourselves fully to Your purpose and that You would be glorified. Amen.
