The reading for today is Psalm 35:28
“Then my tongue shall tell of Your righteousness and of Your praise all the day long.”
I’m memorizing Psalm 119. Verse 13 says, “With my lips I shall declare all the ordinances of Your mouth.” They’re His ordinances, I’m just declaring them!
In my life-long, church-attending experience, I have heard people declare the righteousness of God and give Him praise when something they perceived as good happened in their life. Corrie Ten Boom was once told that God was good because of beautiful lodgings she was provided. She responded by saying God was also good when her sister died in a concentration camp for God is always good.
Our tongues tell of His righteousness because He IS righteous. Our tongues declare His praise because He IS worthy of all praise.
Lord, despite the circumstances of our lives, whether they cause laughter or tears or even day after day boredom, You are good. You are God and there is no other and in this we rejoice and praise Your name! Amen.
