Our scripture for today is Psalm 29 verse 11 (KJV).
"The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace."
Being Lutheran all my life, I have a special place in my heart for Psalms. Most of us know the 23rd Psalm written by David. This verse come at the end of another Psalm by David. David was "a man after God's own heart" yet he was a sinner just like us. Still, he wrote some of our most popular Psalms. He always gave God glory.
David tells us all power comes from God. He writes God "gives strength" and God gives blessings and peace. Man cannot do anything to gain this on his own accord. God does all of this. God also gives each of us peace. So, some questions arise. What is true peace? When does God bless us? What will the blessing be? Does God give strength to all his people or only certain ones?
I don't have the answers. God does. So, pray for God's blessings. Pray for God's peace. Pray for God to strengthen us. Prayer makes a huge difference. God listens and God does answer prayers. Find your strength in the Lord and blessings and peace will follow.
Thank you Lord for the blessings and peace You provide for us. Help me to look to You today for my strength.
