John 14:25-29, NIV.

"All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. You heard me say , 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. I have told you before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe."

Jesus is trying to prepare the disciples for what is about to happen, His death on the cross and His Resurrection. He doesn't want them to be afraid but, be glad that He is going Home to His Father.

As I write this, we are in the midst of a great disaster---Covid 19. I have watched several residents where I work, succumb to it. One day they were relatively healthy and 2-3 days later they were dead.

It is scary.

I know that the Lord is with us as we work to care for others. He has numbered our days before we were born. He will protect us. Only HE has the power to take us.

I see the medical and political community making one mistake after another. This is NOT the time for politics, it is the time to turn back to the Lord. We need to stay at home. I know it is hard, but it is also necessary.

WE NEED TO PAY ATTENTION. If we stay isolated, this will go away. We will recover. We have to believe that the Lord will see us through. He has told us this, He doesn't lie.

Lord, this is a very scary time. We have a bad virus killing many people worldwide. Be with us, show us your love and protection. We ask this in your name. Amen.
