The reading for today is Psalm 119:3.
“They do no wrong, but follow his ways.”
The Bible tells us that the way to true happiness is by living a life in accordance with His word. While we all have good intentions, the reality is we want an easier road. We want to be good faithful Christians, but we want it to be on our terms and when it is convenient for us. However, the only way to be truly happy is to surrender our lives to Him. “Following his ways” means that Jesus is the only way, truth, and life for you. We cannot mix and match truths to live by. God’s way is the only way!
God knows we will falter along the way. He knows we are not perfect. The beginning of this verse says, “Blessed are those who keep his statues and seek him with all their heart.” While we may not always follow his way perfectly, we always need to keep God in our hearts and keep our minds focused on Him. Try to limit the distractions in our life that steer us away from him, keep God in our hearts, and follow His ways!
Lord, I am sorry for the many times that I have let my own desires steer me away from you. Help me to stay focused on your word and to follow the example Jesus set for us. Amen
