The scripture for today is Psalm 66:4.
4 “All the earth bows down to you;
they sing praise to you,
they sing the praises of your name.”
After the Israelites were delivered from slavery in Egypt and traveled the forty years to the promised land, they sang praises to our God. His plan had them enslaved, saved by leading them through the Red Sea to escape the Egyptian captors and then led them through the desert to the promised land. They finally got it right as witnessed by this verse in Psalm 66. It was and is right to praise our God for loving us enough to put up with us.
We need to recognize that without God we wouldn’t be here and have our lives. He provides for us and continues to love us even though we don’t deserve it and many times don’t recognize him as our benefactor. He provides truly unconditional love and we need to praise him for his care and love.
So, when you need a reminder of what matters in our lives read all of Psalm 66.
Let us pray: Heavenly Father thank-you for our lives, our world and all that you provide. Help us to see you and recognize you in all people we meet and see in our lives. We ask for your understanding of our shortcomings and we also ask you help us to grow in your ways. Amen
Prayer Concern: Those who don’t understand that God is our benefactor.
