The scripture for today is Psalm 16:11 (NIV).
“ 11 You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
Sometimes I wish that the GPS in my car could help me navigate other parts of my life. It seems that there are a myriad of options from which most of us can choose. Some are more secure or safe, while others offer more adventure, while others lead to chaos and heart ache. Hopefully, we have avoided the latter. We surely know of the heart aches and hurt of others around us who suffer with misery and remorse.
But the psalmist knows that God’s Word is the path to life - everlasting life with Him. In Proverbs, we are reminded to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5 This does not mean that life will be free from hardship and pain, but it does mean we can serve Him and our ultimate home will be with Him. If you feel like your spiritual GPS needs recalculating, try quiet time in prayer with God, joining a bible study at church, and reading daily from the bible. God’s welcome mat is always there….in anticipation of our awaited return.
Guide me and nudge me into your paths and lead me to your eternal home.
