July 26, 2019 Daily Devotion

The scripture for today is Psalm 138:7, NIV.

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me.

Recently, I have had to really think about this verse. I do trust the Lord. He has cared for me for over 77 years, even forming in the womb.

In May, my employer let me go stating that I could not do my job. 1) I loved my job caring for 27 Daughters of Charity. 2) I WAS doing my job, taking them to their MD appts. 3) I need a job to survive. Social Security is not much, and I lost my pension in the 2008 market crash. God took care of me then and I knew He would now.

However, as the days passed, I got more nervous. When He answered, it was fantastic. I got a job with less physical demands, for more money and hours, and it's with my old friends at the Sarah Community. God is sooooo great.

So, when life gives you woes, or foes, trust him.

Lord, help us to believe that you always have our back. Amen
