The reading for today is Psalm 145:10-13
All your works shall give thanks to you, O LORD, and all your saints shall bless you! They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom and tell of your power, to make known to the children of man your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations.
We are part of a kingdom. God’s kingdom. We are His kingdom people. As citizens of His kingdom, we have some duties described in the passage above. We give thanks to the Lord, we bless Him, we speak of the glory of His kingdom and we tell of His power in order to make known the mighty deeds of God and the glorious splendor of His kingdom.
Do you live like that? I must admit that I frequently do not. O Lord, have mercy.
Lord, help me remember who and whose I am. May my life be like a beacon that beckons all who see it to come near to You and enjoy the glorious splendor of Your everlasting kingdom. Amen.
