The reading for today is Psalm 86:11
Teach me Your way, O LORD, that I may walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name.
I looked up only a small sampling of many excellent verses in the Bible that reference “the way.”
Genesis 6:12 And God saw that the earth was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth.
Romans 3:12 All have turned aside from the way; together they have become useless; there is none who does good; there is not so much as one.
Genesis 18:19 I have chosen him, that he may charge his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing righteousness and justice; so that the LORD may bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.
If you have some time on your hands and want to do an interesting study, go to the Strong’s Concordance online and type in the word “way.” Look at all the times people either stayed on the way or took their own. You can see why it was so important to the Psalmist to ask that he be kept on the Lord’s way in order to walk in His truth.
Lord, teach us Your Way and keep us walking in Your Truth. Unite our hearts to You and to one another in Your Love and Life. Amen.
