The scripture reading for today is Psalm 29 :1
"Ascribe to the Lord, O mighty ones, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength."
The message to all those foolishly thought to be gods which have several thematic links with this psalm comes through loud and clear and it is: The Lord alone must be acknowledged as the divine King. We must always remember this truth, so we don't allow ourselves to be influenced by all the challenges of subliminal messages that can have an adverse effect on our thoughts and behavior.
I love to write, and when I write, I often try to weave my love for our Lord into the fabric of my text. The following is a poem that I wrote seven years ago. In it, I try to ascribe to the Lord the praise we feel because of His Christmas gift to all of us.
Baby Jesus, divine redeeming love,
God ever-living came down from above.
Born of a virgin girl on Christmas Eve,
The king of kings her holy hands receive.
A humble manger cradles you on earth.
Your mother soothes your gentle face at birth.
God gave a child, his only son, to all.
This is a sacred infant, pure and small.
We love you Baby Jesus, newborn boy.
You are the priceless gift of Christmas joy.

Pray For: A foretaste of the feast that awaits those who have received the King of kings and ascribe to Him all the glory and strength of His divinity.
