The scripture for today is Psalm 111: 1-10, KJV.
Verse 1 "PRAISE ye the Lord, I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation."
Verse 10 "The fear of the Lord in the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth forever."
Deadlines. No one likes deadlines when having a project to get done. This is my case with this devotion. I had missed the deadline. Skipped right by it with the holiday season. No excuse. This is all on me.
So, in reading the given text to write a devotion, I found the first and last verses of this psalm to be the ones that jumped out at me. Yes, I should have written out the entire psalm. But, I had a deadline to meet.
The God that we have faith in does wonderful things. Even under stress. He shows us every reason to praise Him in all things. Whether it is before the congregation or amongst ourselves. Verses two through four talks of Gods wonderful works. Go praise God. Then look at his works. And then go praise him again! Simple...
Knowing God's words changes a person to being of fear and faith of God. Having an understanding of His commandments does wonders for being able to discern right and wrong. Our praise to God endures forever. Everything is right there before us. Walk in faith. God has cleared the path.
