The scripture reading for today is Psalm 27: 13-14 from The New English Bible.
“Well I know I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the lord; be strong, take courage, and wait for the Lord”
I was baptized as an adult in the ELCA Lutheran Church when I was 19. After I married, we moved several times. Locating an ELCA Lutheran church was rarely possible on the west coast, so I was Methodist for about 22 years, including the years I have lived in Missouri.
In 2000, my life journey totally changed as I was a newly divorced woman That change included moving after 22 years in St. Louis County to O’Fallon, MO. My prayers and search for a new church lasted about three years. It took me a while to learn my way around the county. I wanted to fit in where it sometimes seemed a divorced woman would not. That was probably coming from me more than outside forces.
I found Living Lord Lutheran Church by accident in the phone book while looking for another Lutheran Church that was further away from where I resided. My first Sunday, I was greeted warmly and shown around the church, introduced to several members and invited back. That day I knew the Lord had sent me to the place He wanted me to be. I received a lovely basket from Diane Kuehl. The rest is history.
Heavenly Father, thank you for leading me to dear spiritual friends and a place to worship at Living Lord Lutheran Church where all are invited and made welcome.
