The reading for today is Galatians 1:24 KJV.
"And they glorified God in me."
Paul, as Saul, was in Jerusalem and persecuted Christians. They were afraid of him. When God appeared to him Saul asked, "Who art thou, Lord?" God replied, " I am Jesus whom thou persecutes...." Saul was blinded by this vision and had to be led by those who accompanied him. For three days he could not see, nor did he eat nor drink.
Ananias, a disciple, was commanded by God to go to Saul. He did as he was told and laid hands on Saul and told him that he, Saul, was to receive his sight and be filled with the holy spirit. The scales fell from his eyes and he was baptized. (Acts 9:1-22)
For three years he journeyed alone to preach to gospel. Christians all over, and even those in Judea, heard of his transformation, and preached to them sin could be forgiven by God's grace through faith in Jesus. They were amazed at how Saul had changed. He himself was amazed, and grateful, and humbled by the fact that God was glorified through his preaching. Throughout his ministry, he was all about glorifying God.
How can we, as Christians, carry on this ministry and be vessels to glorify God? We can do it by the way we speak to and treat others; by the way we do good things for people; by praying for others; by sharing our talents --- how do you work to glorify our Lord?
You are so generous with your love, Holy Father. Make your light shine through us and help us glorify your name through our words and actions. Through Christ our Lord, we pray. Amen.
