The scripture for today is Mark 1: 14-20.

" After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. The time has come, he said. The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!"

Here he calls Simon, Andrew, James and John to follow Him. They drop their nets and do just that. They follow Him. Can you imagine this happening now, today?? I have my doubts.

Do you realize that in the last 20 years, the number of Christians in this country has dropped from 85% to 60%? We have accepted things in the Church that are not the teachings of the Gospel--God's Word. We have to be accepting of actions that are not God's ways. I feel that the troubles we are going through right now are due to us pushing God out of everything and accepting sin as a normalcy.

How can we expect God to be with us when we are NOT walking in His ways? We need to repent and believe the good news. NOW. WE need to turn back to God and His teachings, not accept sin as normalcy just because that is what society says is normal. We need to drop our nets and follow Jesus, just like the disciples.

Lord help us keep our hearts and eyes on you. Sin can be so inviting, but wrong. Help us keep to your teachings. Amen.
