The scripture for today is Galatians 2:1-10.

10 All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along.

God has given each of us different gifts to serve God in different ways. There are some church leaders I admire. They are outspoken, bold, and have a large presence on social media. They speak up about injustice against "the least of these." Sometimes I catch myself comparing myself to them. If only I could be like that...

Then I have to remind myself that that's not me. I don't have twitter or Instagram, and even through Facebook. I'm not the type to post or repost all sorts of things. I can admire other leaders' work, but just because I don't lead in the same way doesn't mean I am any less of a leader.

God sends Peter to the Jews and Paul to the Gentiles. They use different tactics to evangelize. But the one thing they have in common is the gospel of Jesus Christ and the mandate to remember the poor. Through my faith I am called to humble myself, serve my neighbor, and remember the needs of others. God has given me, and God have given you all we need to do God's work in the world only in the way that each one of us can do it.

Dear Lord, give me the strength today to do Your work in my world.
