The scripture for today is Psalm 62: 5-12, KJV.
By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar upon the sea: Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains: being girded with power: Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people. They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid of thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice. Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it. Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundtly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof. Thy crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fattness. They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.
The Psalmist here is writing about the majesty of God. In his writing, he makes it personal to the reader. He tells us right away that salvation is from God. He also writes that God is our confidence. This is a form of being able to trust someone. How much do we trust God? How much confidence do we put in him?
God created everything. From a single cell to the planets and stars. Think about that. Why would we not trust him? Jesus said he knows every hair on our heads. Even those without. God also provides us with everything. He gives us everything to sustain our lives, both physical and spiritual. How great is God!
God is so good that he shares all his blessings with everyone. God does not hold back! From the rain, to the mountains, to the hills, the entire Earth praises his holy name!
Thank you, O Lord, for everything you have provided for us and others! Thank you for salvation through Jesus! Amen!
