The scripture reading for today is Palm 27: 1-6
“The Lord is my light and salivation -- who shall I fear. The LORD is my stronghold of my life -- who shall I dread?
When the wicked came upon me to devour my flesh, my enemies and foes stumble and fell.
Though an army encamps around me my heart will not fear; though a war breaks out against me, I will keep my trust.
I have asked for one thing from the LORD; to dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, gazing on the beauty of that the LORD and seeking Him in His temple.
For He will conceal me in His shelter in the day of; He will hide me under the cover of His tent; He will set me high on a rock.
Then my head will be high above my enemies around me; I will offer sacrifices in His tent with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.”
In our book club we are studying Pastor Eugene Lehrke's book "The Incarnation". He refers to the Psalms as "prayers to God". One thing that has impacted me is how Jesus used the Psalms to pray to His Father. It has given me a new perspective on prayer along with Eugene's encouragement to use the Psalms to worship our God.
This Psalm from David exclaims the power and comfort of the LORD. It has a powerful message that we should share during our messages to others.
I pray that you cherish this Psalm and study its meaning.
