The reading for today is Psalm 36:10.
“Oh, continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, And Your righteousness to the upright in heart “
What I love about this verse is that you can hear David’s plea for God to continue to be who He is. He is thankful for God in his life. He has experienced God’s love, guidance, faithfulness, mercy and loving care and he wants this to continue, not only for himself but also for all others who know God.
David also asks God to continue His righteousness to the upright in heart. I believe this is a reminder to us that God will judge those that do evil. He will see that justice is done in His time, but we have no fear because although we ourselves sin, God knows our heart is in the right place and He forgives us.
How blessed we are to know God and have Him in our lives.
Prayer: I believe David’s prayer is perfect:
Dear Lord, Continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You,
And Your righteousness to the upright in heart. Amen
