The scripture for today is Isaiah 41:14-20, NIV.

Do Not be afraid, O worm Jacob, O little Israel, for I myself will help you" declares the Lord, your Redeemer, The Holy one of Israel.

I will make Rivers flow on barren heights.

I will turn the desert into pools of water.

I will do this so the people may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the Lord has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it.

Just as a statement of knowledge to point out in a class at Church, did you know that Isaiah is called the little Bible? Isaiah has 66 Chapters as the Bible has 66 Books. Many verses from Isaiah are quoted in the new testament.

Here God is speaking to us about how he will always take care of us. I really forget that sometimes and worry about tomorrow. I can't do anything about what is going to happen in the future. I do however have God's promise that he will take care of me.

In this time of Covid, (will it ever disappear?) I worry about finances. I have taxes to pay just like everyone. The problem is that I don't have any extras to pay all of the taxes. I get offers as a nurse to participate in surveys. In the last couples of weeks, I have gotten several offers and got the taxes covered as well as my car service from AAA. All due on 1/1/2021. I worried for nothing!

There is a new song I Iisten to on KJOY called "Sparrows". it is based on Matthew six. Jesus told us not to worry about anything, and He meant it. Not taxes, not clothes, not food, not Covid, not anything. he loves us just like he loved the Israelites in the above verses.

Lord in this time of worry and doubt, help us to rely on you and your word. Your word should always be before us and we should put our faith and trust in you. Amen
