The scripture reading for today is Luke 3:22
“and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, ‘You are my son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased.’ ”
How awesome that is to hear “with you I am well pleased. Don’t we all look for people who are pleased with you? I think back when I was little, my dad was overseas in World War II and stationed in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. My granddaddy worked for the railroad, but he made it a point to take me up to the train station, along with my trusty dog, and talk with me. I still remember that he made me “well pleased”.
Today when my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are around, I try to let them know how beloved and well pleased I am with them.
Dear God, Thank You for Your son, be with those who are in need of being comforted today. Wrap Your arms around them and let them know how much You care for each of them.
