The reading for today is Psalm 102:18-22.
18 Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the LORD: 19 “The LORD looked down from his sanctuary on high, from heaven he viewed the earth, 20 to hear the groans of the prisoners and release those condemned to death.” 21 So the name of the LORD will be declared in Zion and his praise in Jerusalem 22 when the peoples and the kingdoms assemble to worship the LORD.
The book of Psalms was written from 1407 B.C up to 586 B.C., or about 2,607 to 3,438 years ago. Plus or minus, either way a long time ago, in a galaxy all too close.
We are the future generations and we still praise the Lord, and we assemble to worship the Lord. We raise our children to assemble to worship and praise the lord.
That is quite an amazing track record. A generation is about 15-20 years, so…for the last 130 to 170 generations, we have lived up to these words.
Has anything else from the words of God, through man, lived up to the task?

I pray that the Spirit flows through to our children in that they worship and praise the Lord in ever growing love, energy, and numbers.
