The reading for today is Psalm 71:1.

"In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion."

Oh boy DO I trust the Lord. Coming home from Thanksgiving in Ohio, Lorraine and I hit a deer. She was a mule deer about 200 lbs. It was 5 am, misty and there she was.

Nowhere to go. Then she just disappeared. She did $5,000 damage to my car, but no airbags deployed, she did NOT come through the windshield, and the car was drivable. Jesus was the pilot. I always say, "Jesus take the wheel when I drive." He did, no doubt.

Confusion. I work in a nursing home for retired Nuns. I see a lot of confusion and loss of memory. I think it is worse than Cancer. I have watched very brilliant people become babies again. Nothing more degrading. Yet, God is there with them. Something gets through to them when they pray and go to Mass. They can say prayers when they can't speak to staff. I call it a miracle.

Dear Lord, Thank you for faith you give to me so I can trust that You will always be in control.
