The reading for today is Psalm 119:10
With my whole heart I seek You; let me not wander from Your commandments!
I memorized this verse within a larger passage last year and it always made me giggle a little when I quoted it. It reminded me of, “Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief.” I can’t decide if the Psalmist is saying, “I seek You with my whole heart, but I know even that is not enough to keep me from wandering.” Or if he is saying he’s a little fickle and one moment he seeks with his whole heart, but he knows in the next moment he will need help not to wander.
Either way, I know they can both apply to me! Thanks be to God that He is faithful even when I am not.
God Almighty, I am so blessed to be Your child. You know that I would be lying if I said I always seek You with my whole heart. Please change my heart to seek You fully and do not let me wander from Your commandments. Amen.
