The scripture reading for today is Psalm 119:1-8 NIV
1 Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
who walk according to the law of the Lord,
2 Blessed are those who keep his statutes
and seek him with all their hearts
3 they do no wrong
but follow his ways.
4 You have laid down precepts
that are to be fully obeyed.
5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees!
6 Then I would not be put to shame
when I consider all your commands.
7 I will praise you with an upright heart
as I learn your righteous laws.
8 I will obey your decrees;
do not utterly forsake me.
I’ve been traveling recently and spending a great deal of time following Google maps to get to my various destinations. GPS directions have been a huge help. So it is with God’s law, the ultimate roadmap for our lives. If we “walk according to the law of the Lord,” and choose the path that God has revealed it leads to a blessed life. If we choose to follow our own path it can lead to trials and suffering. Sometimes we take a wrong turn in life but if we are truly trying to follow God’s law, his roadmap for our lives, he will “recalculate” our path and help us get back on track.
Dear Lord, Help us to faithfully follow your roadmap for our lives. May our lives bring glory to You. Amen
