The reading for today is Psalm 21, verse 1, KJV.
"The king shall joy in thy strength; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!"
I use the catch phrase when I end lots of writings I do on Facebook with "Be grateful!". I may have to change that to "Be joyful!". Joy comes in many levels. Joy is wonderful! Joy is the result of Grace!
This ruler (king) knew where true joy and strength came from. It was nothing he had done. It is from God and God alone. He also knows that salvation is from God. He uses the word of ownership by stating "thy" when describing strength and salvation. He gives God ownership of both.
Take the time to read the complete Psalm. It is short but powerful. It shows us some of the qualities of God. It tells us God is always there, even in our toughest moments. God is eternal. God is our salvation and strength. God is all in all. All praise God!
