The scripture for today is John 8:12-19, NIV.

When Jesus spoke to the people, He said "I am the Light of the World. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life."

Jesus goes on the explain that He and His Father are witnesses of who He is. People ask who is His Father. He explains about the Jewish law that two people have to witness His testimony. He is one witness and His Father is the other.

We have been going through a rough year. Covid has only been one part of it. The light Jesus is speaking of will NOT grow dim. I wish it could shine in the areas where there is so much hate and deceit. This little light of Mine, I gonna make it shine. I am really showing my age now. As this year ends and another starts, let all of us make our lights shine and expose hatred for what it is, fear and ignorance. Jesus is my Light, I hope He is yours as well.

Lord, let your light shine in my heart and out to others as your love. Amen
