The scripture for today is Psalm 20 verse 5, KJV.

“We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfills all thy petitions."

I recall seeing banners in the church the first time in the 1980's. I never gave it much thought. At the church we worshiped, they had a banner committee. We come to Living Lord and there are more banners. Many for each season and festivals. All for celebration of what God does in our lives.

This Psalm shows how we rejoice in God's salvation for us. The psalmist also writes that the Lord fulfills the petitions that we ask of him. They may not be our petitions. We know it is God's petitions. God guides us in our lives and knows what is best for us. We, at times, think we know what is best. God knows better.

This Psalm has only nine verses. It covers many aspects of the character of God. It talks about what man trusts rather than God. God listens and hears all things. God knows our hearts and what we wish to do before it is done. Jesus was the same way.

Lord, we pray for our salvation. We pray for our afflictions. We pray for others and Lord, we pray for you to lead us to them. Amen
