The reading for today is Isaiah 66:10(NIV).
10 “Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice greatly with her, all you who mourn over her.”
This passage in Isaiah is referring to God’s people, Israel. He has continued to seek them as they at times turn away from Him. We too are considered God’s people and often follow a similar path as the Israelites did – we follow God and His commandments with our hearts, and at times turn to worldly pleasures and pursuits. As God was always seeking their return, so too does He seek our return as a lamb to the fold. It is never too late to seek God and put Him at the center of your life. Few earthly relationships ever look like this because our pride, our sense of rejection, our efforts in keeping a relationship going in the face of indifference, take too heavy a toll. But God is persistent and never turns away the seeker of His love. God is seeking us daily and His promises are faithful and eternal.
Dear God, Guide me to seek you daily. You are ever faithful; please help my unfaithfulness. Amen
