The reading for today is Psalm 124 verse 7. KJV.
"Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped."
"If it had not been the Lord who was on our side". This Psalm starts out with these words in the first two verses. The question arises as to what would happen had God not been with us. God is with us. No one can be against us. There is a footnote to Romans, chapter eight, verse thirty one. This is what Paul wrote about in that epistle. The Psalm then continues to show how we were in despair through verses three through five.
Verse seven gets personal. Not as a general call to Israel but to the person writing the Psalm. We are rescued by the Lord in all things. Verses six blesses the Lord for not giving up on us. God never does. Even when we feel nothing, he is there. Empty? Crushed? Hurt? God never leaves us. We will not be "snared" since we are one of His own.
Dear Father, thank you so much for walking with me today and every day. Help me to see You in all things as I go throughout this day.
