The reading for today is Ecclesiastes 12:9
“And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order may proven.”
Many years ago, there was a pastor at our church who had more issues than I’ve ever met. He was very uncomfortable at everything he did. It was painful to try to see him try to do a children’s sermon, he had trouble meeting with any committees that were ongoing, he had trouble shaking hands and greeting people as they were leaving the service. I even had to write the sermon he gave for my mother’s funeral.
What was I to do? God spoke to my heart and said I was to love him. Almost all of the people at church were trying to decide what to do about the situation, and yet I was told to love him.
That’s what I did. I loved him, prayer for him, and tried to keep him as happy as God would want him to be. I think it worked. When he left the church, he thanked me.
What can you do to help our pastors and preachers? Mainly love them.
Dear God, Thank You for Your wisdom and showing us just the right thing to do at the right time. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen
