The scripture for today is Psalm 26. 1 Vindicate me, Lord, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the Lord and have not faltered. 2 Test me, Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind; 3 for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness. 4 I do not sit with the deceitful, nor do I associate with hypocrites. 5 I abhor the assembly of evildoers and refuse to sit with the wicked. 6 I wash my hands in innocence, and go about your altar, Lord, 7 proclaiming aloud your praise and telling of all your wonderful deeds. 8 Lord, I love the house where you live, the place where your glory dwells.
David wrote this prayer that focuses on his relationship with God. He reminds us that we are responsible for our own moral and religious integrity. David was a man of God who was confident in God's presence and constant care over him. He was not afraid to say, prove me, O Lord, and try me; test my heart and my mind. For Your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in Your faithfulness.
When the world swirls around us and we seem to face trial after trial, let us remember the Lord our God who sees all and faithfully takes care of His children. Pray for strength to walk in the integrity of the Lord, and for a spirit of love toward the place where God's glory dwells.
Pray today that God will manifest Himself to you as you go about your day, and that you would walk in peace and confidence with Him no matter what the circumstances. May we, like David, love the place where God's glory dwells!
Dear Lord, I am grateful to be Your child and to know Your grace. Give me a pure heart and a genuine commitment to always do Your will. Use me to lead others to You. Amen.
