“But it was Solomon who built a house for him.”
Simple. Short. "But it was Solomon who built a house for Him."
But the part I love most is what follows up:
"Yet the Most High does not dwell in houses made with human hands; as the prophet says, ‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build for me, says the Lord, or what is the place of my rest? Did not my hand make all these things?”
We, as people, tend to get wrapped up in places and things. We worry about them incessantly and these fears and worries in turn divide us as people. God is Divine Lord over All. God cannot and will not be contained by the insecurities and limits of mankind. We need to open to His Majesty and realize the vastness of His Glory (Presence) in this world.
God is great. All the time and in All places.
Lord, Open our hearts and minds to see your greatness throughout all that you have made. Amen.
