April 23, 2020 Daily Devotion

The scripture for today is Psalm 116:1-4; 12-19, NIV.

1 " I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy.

4 Then I called on the name of the Lord,' O Lord, save me!'

12 How can I repay the Lord for all His Goodness to me. "

How CAN we repay the Lord??? It seems to be a simple answer, we have to follow His ways and directions. We have many guidelines. The 10 Commandments, the Beatitudes, Christ's messages in the scripture. BUT, It is not easy to follow. I mess up several times every day.

But we have a great and merciful God. I have been listening to KJOI to and from work every day. It helps me relax as I am driving the 35 miles to and from. There is a relatively new song I just love. It is by a singer named Blanca called, SHATTERED. In the verses it talks about being torn and broken like shattered glass on the floor. Then Jesus picks up all of the pieces, puts them back together, and they are even more beautiful and better than before.

He is such an AWESOME God. Let's try to repay His goodness just a little bit everyday by being nicer and kinder to all we come in contact with. Have empathy and sympathy for those around us. You will feel much better, and Father GOD will be dancing.

Lord, you are such an awesome God. You give us so much mercy and Grace. Help us to remember that even though we are broken and sin against you daily, you forgive us and delight in our trying to be more like Jesus. AMEN
