“But on the first day of the week at early dawn, the women came to the tomb taking spices they had prepared. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find Jesus’ body.” Luke 24:1-2

The word “BUT” is used to introduce a statement that contradicts a previous statement.

The word “BUT” is used at the beginning of a sentence that expresses surprise or shock.

O They saw where it all ended…

...BUT…

...it was actually the place where it all begins.

O They saw His last moment alive…

...BUT…

...it turned out there was more life.

O They saw His body broken…

...BUT…

...they would see Him Alive Again.

O They saw what they didn’t want to see…

...BUT…

...they saw what they never would un-see.

O Peter saw the empty tomb and was amazed…

...BUT….

…He was about to be more amazed when Jesus forgave him.

He Is Risen!

He IS Risen Indeed!

Alleluia!
