“CRUCIFY! CRUCIFY HIM!” Luke 23:21
+ The crowds demanded it. He said nothing.
+ They made Him carry the Cross. He said nothing.
“When they came to the place that is called The Skull, they crucified Jesus there with the criminals, one on His right and one on His left.” Luke 23:33
+ Humanity imagined a torture bad enough to cause unspeakable pain, lasting long enough to extend the agony, and public enough to both humiliate the victim and be a public warning. “They crucified Him.”
He said something.
“Then Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34
+ We did our worst. He did God’s best.
+When Jesus spoke, He forgave.
+When Jesus spoke, He interceded for us.
+When Jesus spoke, He saved.
