“Now the men who were holding Jesus began to mock Him and beat Him, they also blindfolded Him and kept asking Him, “Prophesy! Who was it that hit You?” Luke 22:63-64
How surprised would they have been if, while blindfolded, Jesus had said, “That was you, Aaron.” “That time was you, Nathanael.” “And that was you, Alphaeus.”
Maybe, they blindfolded Jesus so He couldn’t see what they were about to do to Him. But He knew.
Maybe, they blindfolded Jesus so He wouldn’t know who was hurting him. But He knew.
Maybe, they blindfolded Jesus to make Him fearful. But He was not afraid.
Maybe, they blindfolded Jesus to put Him into darkness. But He is the Light Who shines in the darkness and no darkness can overcome Him.
He was not afraid.
He is the light.
