The reading for today is 1 Corinthians 15:1-11
Now I make known to you, brothers, the gospel which I announced to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, Through which also you are being saved, if you hold fast the word which I announced to you as the gospel, unless you have believed in vain. For I delivered to you, first of all, that which also I received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He has been raised on the third day according to the Scriptures; And that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve; Then He appeared to over five hundred brothers at one time, of whom the majority remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; And last of all He appeared to me also, as it were to one born prematurely. For I am the least of the apostles, who am not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am; and His grace unto me did not turn out to be in vain, but, on the contrary, I labored more abundantly than all of them, yet not I but the grace of God which is with me. Therefore, whether it is I or they, so we preach and so you have believed.
So . . . now what? The Gospel was announced to Paul and he shared it with the Corinthians. He mentions others, all of whom received this Gospel and shared it with others. By the end of this passage, Paul seems to be saying that they have received this same Gospel and should also be sharing it.
Easter Sunday is behind us. We have received this Gospel. What will our next steps be?
Lord God Almighty, thank You for this abundant Grace. You have graced us with the gifts of Your Son and Your Spirit, and You also grace us with a commission to share You with others. Help us to be faithful in You to fulfill this charge and share Your incredible love with others. Amen.
Prayer Concern: That God’s grace would be realized in every heart on the planet.
